Bridal Shoe Trends 2022 | Block Heels with Tulle & Lace Bows

Finally! 2022 is here, and there are so many new and exciting trends in bridal footwear. It’s going to be a big year for weddings, with exciting new venues, dresses, and new bridal shoe trends. Outdoor weddings from the forest to the beach will be popular, as will the need for practical, yet stunning shoes. Brides-to-be want “Block Heels“. Our showroom has a variety of block heel wedding shoes ranging from 2″ to 3 1/2” heels from Badgley Mischka and Bella Belle, with a variety of bows, ribbon wraps, and of course, sparkle too.

Block heels aren’t a new bridal shoe trend, we started seeing their rise in popularity over the last three years. However, this season brings new looks in bows and lace. Bows are all the rage! From oversized tulle bows to lace bows, and one of our favorite trends: ribbon ankle wraps, which you can finish with a bow or a knot. Keep in mind, that supply chain issues continue in the wedding industry, and shoes are no exception. If you see a pair of shoes you love, get them! Hesitation will equal disappointment, we’re sorry to say.

Oversized Tulle Bows

Not limited to block heels, we are seeing oversized bows in clothing as well as wedding shoes. Perhaps, the trend started with Jimmy Choo and their mismatched bow sandal, Aveline. As a result, most hot designers now have their own interpretation of the oversized bow in their shoe collections.

These shoes are most likely the inspiration behind the oversized bow trends we are seeing in wedding dresses and bridal shoes.

Our hottest bow shoe is Kim, designed by Badgley MIschka. What’s not to love? On-trend with an oversized tulle back bow, 3 1/4″ block heel, heel cup for support and it’s available in three bridal shoe colors: ivory, blush, and mist blue.

Speaking of Tulle Bows, although not on a block heel, the below high heel styles from Bella Belle and Badgley Mischka are quite fabulous too.

Lace Bows

Lace is always prevalent in bridal, so of course, we would expect to see it in a bow. We’re not disappointed. The queens of lace: Erina & Veronica at Bella Belle Shoes, did not disappoint. Back bows, front bows, and yes, even side bows are included in their new line for 2022: Heart & Soul. You’ll find lace bows adorning flats, low heels, block heels, and stilettos. A few favorites are below.

Meet Leila’s, sister, Laurie. Laurie has the same grand details but is on a much more manageable 3″ block heel. Therefore, this style offers more comfort, but just as stylish.

Ankle Wrap Trends

We started seeing the return of silk ribbon ankle wraps in 2021, and our brides loved them. Two of our best sellers, Ivy and Penelope, designed by Bella Belle, offer both the lace and ankle wrap trends. We anticipate the popularity of these styles to continue throughout 2022. Take a look below and you’ll understand why.

We also have two popular styles from Badgley Mischka, Blaze, and Bobbie that epitomize the ribbon wrap trend. Blaze keeps it simple and stylish, Bobbie brings on the glam.

Continuing with this trend is a new style from Bella Belle, named Ardelia. This gal is one of our favorites.
