Wedding Jewelry Tips
Nothing completes a look and adds glamour to your wedding like jewelry. Beyond the sparkle and shine, bridal jewelry is a wonderful memento of your wedding day, and can be passed on within a family or among friends. It can be worn again and again, in its original state or modified. Don't compromise, select wedding earrings, necklaces and bracelets that you love and will always want to wear.
Earrings are the most important piece of wedding jewelry, besides your engagement ring and wedding band. Earrings are the finishing touch to any outfit; they frame the face and will show up in all your photographs. Drop earrings will lengthen the face, whereas large posts will add fullness.
A little word of caution: Before selecting your earrings, finalize how you will be wearing your hair. Hairstyle will influence the earrings you select. If you are wearing your hair long and down, you will want to avoid any possibility of your hair becoming tangled with your earrings. You may also want to wear an earring size you are used to wearing.
WEDDING DAY NECKLACES
As with any outfit, the wedding necklace you wear will depend upon the style of wedding dress, type of neckline, and how much detail is on the neckline and bodice. This season's wedding dresses have a lot of beading and intricate detail which generally doesn't require a necklace. Thus the popularity of fabulous earrings and bracelets. Of course there are also simple clean dresses each season too. A simple dress with simple lines lends itself to any style jewelry you love, enabling you to make the dress completely yours.
High or simple scoop necklines generally require a simple piece, whereas a wide-open neckline allows for many different options. You can almost never go wrong with traditional pearls as many strands and pearl size you like.
Bridal bracelets are making a comeback this year. With dresses being heavily beaded and adorned, necklaces are taking a back seat to Earrings and bracelets. Traditional pearl bracelets and pearl bracelets adorned with stones and center pieces are the rage this year, as well as crystal bangles and cuffs. A traditional single or double strand bracelet is also a wonderful gift for the bride for her to wear for her wedding or just for every day for years to come.
ANKLE BRACELETS & TOE RINGS
With the increasing popularity of mules and sandals, what could be more appropriate for glamour and to define your style? Select a piece that is consistent with the theme of your dress. If you adore the item, then wear it.
WHAT ABOUT WATCHES?
You do not need to wear a watch at your wedding. As the star of the show, who needs to worry about time? Besides, it will be flying by.
As bridesmaids don't have to wear the same dresses, neither do they need to wear identical accessories or bridesmaid's jewelry. Allowing your bridesmaids to select their own jewelry and accessories lets them express their own style, and permits them to choose what they will like and be able to wear again. However, it is perfectly appropriate to give them guidelines or bridesmaid's jewelry as a gift.
